Spring is here

We have had a nice week. We have been enjoying life with Kyle around. He was in Fargo, North Dakota on Friday. He left Friday morning and got home Saturday morning so it was not too bad. He won the steer wrestling with a 3.8. It made the trip worthwhile. The girls and I went into a 1st-12th grade basketball tournament Friday night and Saturday morning. It is just the Chambers kids playing Chambers kids. We had to go check it out to see what we are in for next year when Jenae will be a 1st grader.

Saturday night Marliyn fixed supper for all of us to help Chip and Hope celebrate their birthdays. It was a fun time. Jenae wanted to play Snorta. It is a really fun game. You can’t help but laugh a lot when you play. It always feels good to have a good laugh.
Yesterday we went to Church then home. It was absolutely beautiful yesterday. We were able get out and do some riding. A couple of weeks ago I got a new camera. I am having lots of fun taking picture with it.

Spring is finally here. We have a really good forecast through Thursday. It could actually hit 80 degrees!!! It is nice to have things drying out a little bit. Every day the grass seem to get just a touch more green.

Trey is Home!!

Trey got to come home from the hospital on Saturday. Kyle and I stopped by last night to see the little guy. He seems to be doing really good. He even had a few smiles for us!! It appears he is well on the road to recovery. We are all very thankful for that!

Trey

It sounds like thinks are going a little better for Trey. They took his oxygen off this morning and have been able to keep it off most of the day. The last message I had from Hope is that he is they may have to put him back on the oxygen but he was still doing better. They are really hoping that they will get to come home tomorrow. Please keep praying for them all!

Please Pray For Litte Trey

They put Trey in the hospital today for RSV. His oxygen levels had dropped to 85 so they had to put him on oxygen. He is so little and your really use your prayers right now. Please also pray for Ben and Hope to give them the strength they need right now. It is such a helpless feeling as a parent to watch you little baby lay there in a hospital bed.

They are hoping if his oxygen levels are okay they will get to come in the morning.

I will post updates as I know them.

Mud Mud Mud!

I am going to apologize up front if this post is on the negative side. I know I have so much to be thankful for but.... I am so tired of the mud!!!! I know we should be thankful for the moisture, but enough is enough! I realize I do not have much to complain about compared to the ranchers who are dealing with the mud and baby calves.

Of course Kyle was in warm sunny Texas all weekend long while the girls and I were stuck in soggy swamp land! I spent Friday morning scraping the mud and slush off of a cement pad that I decided to try to hay the horse on and I spent Sunday afternoon cleaning off the wet soggy hay mixed in with horse manure off from the same cement pad so I had a clean place to put hay out again. Saturday Chip and I dug trenches in my driveway to try to get some of the water to drain off. Right now only a 4X4 vehicle can get through. So I have had my fill of "playing"in the mud!!! We are all ready for some sunshine.

I took Friday off since Jenae did not have school. The plan was to have go to go t my parents house on Thursday evening then Jenae was planning to go to school in Newman Grove for the day. My sister-in-law in the kindergarten teacher in Newman Grove. Jenae was so looking forward to it. Noon on Thursday I got a call from Aubree's daycare saying she had just got sick to her stomach. I sure did not want to take a stomach bug to my parents so I decided to stay home. I am a little confused what was wrong with Aubree, she never got sick again and played like normal all weekend and Jenae and I never came down with anything so not sure what that was all about! I was pretty bummed. It has been a really long time since I have went to my parents house to just hang out for a weekend. I have seen them quite a bit lately which has been nice, but it is always to go somewhere or do something not to just spend time with them at their house. There is something so relaxing about going back to your parents house for a weekend. Mom always spoils me by cooking good food.

By mid morning on Friday it was apparent that Aubree did not have the flu. Hope and Trey were over at Chip and Marilyn's house. We went over and spent most of the day there. Aubree was so happy to see Trey. He is such a happy baby and just as cute as can be!!! His smile will melt any one's heart.

Saturday we stayed home all day. It was nice. I did a few odds and ends around the house that I had been meaning to get done.

Sunday I had to do children's church. After church we came home and did more house work. After I got my horse, chicken, kitty, and dog chores done we went over to Chip and Marilyn's house to watch Kyle in Houston. They were able to pull it up online so we could watch him run his steer. He made a good run and was 4.7. He was 3rd in the round in his group of 10. We were happy with that! It really confused Aubree. Last night when I was putting Aubree to bed she said "Daddy was in Grandpa's puter?????"

The weekend did not quite go as planned but we still had a good weekend. I think I have mentioned before but my in-laws are awesome! They help me out in so many ways especially when Kyle is gone. I am very thankful for them!

I do have a prayer request. Our friend's little girl was diagnosed with Gillian's Barre Syndrome. Guillain-Barré syndrome is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. Anabelle was a very happy healthy 3 year old. Last weekend her Mom noticed she stumbling and staggering when she walked. She also complained of her legs hurting. It got tot he point that she could not walk at all on her own. After numerous test they discover it was Guillain-Barré. Due to her age and the fact they caught it before it moved to far up her body she is expected to recover well. I am sure it is going to be a long process for their entire family.

The weekends always go way to fast! Saturday we went to help my nephew, Cooper, celebrate his 2nd birthday. It was a nice party. The kids all played really good together and had a great time.

Kyle went to a rodeo Valley City, North Dakota on Saturday. He did not have any luck in the steer wrestling, but was 9.4 in the calf roping and ended up 3rd.

Sunday we went to church and then spent the rest of the day close to home. The girls and I are trying to enjoy every minute with Kyle at home. I am dreading him hitting the rodeo trail again. The girls miss him so much when he is gone.

Hopefully we will be getting some nicer weather so we can start spending more time outside. We have been getting a lot of unwanted moisture here in Nebraska and I think there is rain or snow in the forecast from now till Saturday. We will all welcome some sunshine.

Weekend

(Jenae trying on an outfit on our shopping trip)

I not know about all of you but I am very happy to see March 1st on the calender today! It has been such a long cold winter here in Nebraska it is nice to know the official first day of Spring is a few weeks away!

We had a nice weekend. Friday night the Chambers girls had their district basketball ball game in Burwell. Chip and Marilyn took Jenae with them to the game. It sounds like she had a great time. Aubree and I met the Ehlers family and the Young family for supper at the Chambers corner. The food was really good and it was nice to visit with them. Aubree was very happy because there were 2 babies to help entertain.

Saturday Jenae and I went on a little shopping trip to Grand Island. My Mom, sisters, Danielle & Lacey, and my brother's wife, Erin, and my nephew, Cooper all joined us. My wonderful in-laws were nice enough to keep Aubree for the day. She was very excited to spend the day at Grandpa and Grandma's without Jenae. She had a lot of fun she told me about a calf in the snow bank and a really big strong bird they had seen (bald eagle). Jenae and I had a good time shopping
we found some good sales, which always makes shopping more fun.

Sunday the girls and I went to church and then to McDonald's for dinner. I was a nice weekend.

Kyle should be home sometime this afternoon. He has been gone for over 3 weeks. I am not going to lie, it has been a tough with him gone for this long in the middle of winter. In the summer when he is gone the girls and I have plenty to do to occupy our time. The winter is a different story. The girls have really missed him. I told Bree that Daddy was coming home she look at me with a really serious face and said ''Daddy is coming home?'' Almost as if she could not believe it. Jenae knew he was on his way home this morning and told me she wished she could take a cell phone to school with her so she could keep checking in with her Daddy to see what town he was in that way she knew when he was getting close to home. I have a feeling the girls are not going let him out of there sight for sometime when he gets home.
