Visitors

We had a busy weekend of visitors, but we loved every minute of it!  Danielle brought her boys out Friday night and we did a quick photo session.  They are such cute boys and they all cooperated so well that it was a fun session.  She brought pizza for supper so it was nice and easy meal for the evening.  We ate most all our meals on our patio. I love having a patio & wonder what I did all these years with out it!!  Kyle left Friday night for a rodeo in Harrison, Arkansas.

Saturday the kids were all up bright and early, they headed out the door first thing in the morning and we hardly saw them the rest of the day.  They did surface when they were hungry! They played and built forts back in the trees behind our house.  They took produce from my garden and made "juice" and "soup" out of the stuff.  It reminded Danielle and me of our adventures of playing in the tree line at our house while growing up.

Jaxson and Whitney played really well together and spent a lot of time having free run of the house since the big kids were outside.  Danielle helped me with my on going landscaping project.  We were sad to see them leave that night.

My Mom stopped by on Sunday to see Whitney for her birthday (a week early).  I put Mom to work on some projects outside as well.  Sure was nice to have the extra help with my yard work/landscaping this weekend and enjoyed the visiting also :-)

Saturday Night Fun

The girls were so entertained by skink on Saturday night that they played and played and played with it!  Who knew a little lizard could be so entertaining!!  Whitney was a little rough with the skink so she didn't get to hold it much ;-)

Not again.....

A week ago Thursday Jenae had another little incident with hitting the ground!  This time she came down off Marana.  This is Jenae's 4 time in her life of falling off/getting bucked off a horse and she got another broken arm :-(  This time it was her radius instead of her humerus.  She is doing really good with it.  She rarely complains of pain.  She is one tough cowgirl!!  When I took her in to ER, I could tell they really didn't think it was broken by how she was acting.  She was just holding her arm, but smiling and joking with them.  I am betting they thought she just had a bad sprain.  They the Xrays reveled what I already knew and they sprang in to action.  The doctor was like a little bee buzzing around the ER sending pictures of the xrays to orthopedic PA.  They could not believe how tough she was being.  They did end up putting a sugar splint cast on it that night then on Tuesday she went in and had the full cast put on.  They wanted the swelling to go down before they put the hard cast on her arm.  The only time she fussed really about anything was when the doctor thought she should get a shot to help with the pain while the put the splint on.  I promised her that the few seconds the shot would hurt would be well worth in.  She finally gave in and I do think the shot helped with the pain in the night too.  As we walked out of ER she started scratching her face, her legs, her tummy and said "Mom, I am really itchy"  We quickly turned back around and back to ER we went.  She must have had some reaction to the shot, so they gave her an antihistamine and sent us on our way!

2013 is not been a good year for our family.  I am really hoping that we have used up our share of "bad luck" that 2013 has thrown our way!!!

Jenae waiting for the splint to be put on.  The band aid on her face was just for fun, she did not have any scratches or scrapes from her accident.

Jenae was all smiles getting her splint put on.  It was after the shot had kicked in so she was not feeling too much pain.

Jenae's 2nd cast.  She went with Husker Red!  This cast will stay on for 2 weeks then she gets a shorter cast put on for the rest of the time.

Aubree wanted to put a smiley face on Jenae's cast.  As you can see by the location, Jeane was not real sure she wanted everyone to be able to see Aubree's art work!

Aubree's 6th Birthday

Oh Aubree Joy... you are such a joy and a blessing to have in our lives.  You keep our lives so entertianing and there is never a dull moment when you are around!! We love you so much!!!

We had such a nice birthday evening for Aubree last Tuesday!   Since I did not have to work on Wedensday that I was able to enjoy  her birthday evening!

I had a grand plan to make corndogs for supper.  Aubree loves corndogs and I thought it would be fun to make "State Fair" Style corndogs.  Well, they were a huge flop!!!  I ended up making chicken strips.

It was really relaxing night and i enjoyed getting to use my patio :-)

The Start of Aubree's Birthday

Aubree Joy is turning 6!!!  Not sure where the time goes!   My mom came out last Wednesday to see Aubree & bring her a birthday gift.  It is always nice to have my Mom come out, we get so much work done when she is here!!  We worked hard on putting in a patio at my house.  It was a big project and I will post pictures of it another day.  I think we are really going to enjoy it.

Sunday Marilyn threw a surprise party for Aubree.  Aubree has told me a time or two before how she wished she could have a surprise party.  Well I think she was very excited to actually have one!  It was very thoughtful for Marilyn to let Aubree have that experience!  Later that night I asked Aubree "What did you think about getting a surprise party?"  She said "It was fun!  I wished that I had been dressed up for it in nice clothes :-)"  Leave it to Aubree to think of that!

State Fair

Kyle was rodeoing all weekend, I felt like I worked really hard on Saturday and Sunday so I decided if Marilyn would keep Whitney the girls & I would make a quick trip to the State Fair.  Jenae had peppers qualify for the State Fair and we wanted to go check them out! It really was a lot of fun! Both girls had a great time.  My Mom was there with my Aunt and we met up with them for a little while, so that was a lot of fun too!

We parked at Sam's Club and took the shuttle to the Fair.  Jenae and Aubree were both so excited to be on the big bus with all the windows.

Jenae & Aubree really wanted to ride the Camel.

Aubree looked very comfortable and confident up there & Jenae looked a little nervous.  I asked Jenae if she was scared up there and she said she was worried she was going to kick him in the flanks and it would take off bucking!  This picture show Jenae's feet sticking out to avoid the flank area :-)

Jenae and her blue ribbon peppers!

Aubree loves corn dogs.  I told her it is hard to beat a State Fair corn dog.  She agreed!!

Mom, Jenae & Aubree on the sky tram. I am not a fan of heights so I stayed on the ground and took pictures of them :-)

Aubree was so excited to see her favorite animal a Zebra at the petting zoo.

Camp out in the pasture

Chip gets Grandpa of the year award! Labor Day weekend he took Jenae, Aubree & Trey on a 4 mile trial ride then set up camp for them all and they spent the night in the pasture.
It will be an evening they will never forget!  They are all so lucky to have a Grandpa who is willing to put so much effort into making memories with the Grand kids!

The kids and Chip headed out to the pasture!  The trail ride was part of the fun.
They arrived at the camp site!
The horses spent the night tied to the trees.

The kids each found a stump to sit on to eat their supper.

The sunset was beautiful that night!  Whitney thought the cloud was a dinosaur.  She was really upset when the cloud changed shape and could not figure out where the dinosaur went.  Instead of trying to tell her it really was a cloud shaped like a dinosaur not a real dinosaur I told her the dinosaur flew home to its mama! She seemed ok with that answer!
