Things are slowing down

I have enjoyed the quietness of January!  I think we had 3 weekends in a row that we were pretty much home.  We had things here and there, but 3 weeks in a row of sleeping in our own beds and not packing to go anywhere was awesome!!  The weather has been really crazy.  We will have some really nice days followed by some really windy days followed by some freezing cold days.  But now that January is almost over and February is a short month Spring is right around the corner....right????  That is what I am telling myself anyway!

These are a few pictures from the past few weeks.  I do see something missing from most of my pictures...Jenae!  Guess she is getting to an age where she does not make herself as available for pictures!

Aubree had cheer camp practice.  They worked 3 hours and learned a really cute routine!

Kyle, Chip, Jenae & Hope moved cattle home from the corn stalks to work them.  It was a cold very very windy day!  The wind was out of the northwest and guess what direction they moved the cattle??  Northwest!  If I remember right the wind was blowing between 20 & 30 mph and wind gusts up to 50 mph.  They moved them about 4 miles.

Aubree  loving every minute of her dancning!

The highlight for Whitney at the game was going around and seeing all her little daycare friends!

Aubree enjoying blowing some bubbles on an almost 60 degree day!

Whitney enjoying the day on our swing set.  She is pretty proud that she is big enough to climb up and go down the slide all by herself!

Oh my Aubree Joy!  We never know what she will come up with!

Aubree snuggling with the puppy.  We had a really nice litter of puppies.  We found nice homes for all of them! It is a sad day at our house the day the puppies move on to their new homes!

Forre Christmas

Still playing catch up with my blogging!  This is from the first weekend in January.

With the Holiday season coming to a close, Rodeo season is just getting geared up!  Kyle left early Saturday for the beginning of the Winter Rodeo season.  He started out in Topeka KS at a qualifier for The American.  They take the top 10 from 5 qualifiers to a semi finals then the top 5 out of the 50 qualify for the worlds richest 1 day rodeo!  It is pretty exciting!!!

The girls & I went to my Mom's Sunday to celebrate Christmas with my Dad's sisters and their families.  It was a fun time with lots of laughs!  It was super cold that day, a high of 2 and with 3 little girls and no husband along I was anxious to get on the road.  I was so happy to make it home with no vehicle troubles/flat tires!  Even though the temps were subzero the house was warm with laughter and love!  It was a great day, just went by all to quickly!

Whitney an her Memory Bear.  Mom had bears made for all the grand kids and Dad's sisters from Dad's shirts. The girls loved their bears.  Aubree named her bear "Grandpa Dan"  It was cute!

Between Christmas & New Years

Well here I am behind again!  We were so blessed to have a wonderful Christmas and the time off during the Holidays was awesome!  We had some really nice weather days right after Christmas, and we took full advantage of them by getting some time in the saddle.  I even found some time to get to ride.  I was great!  Jenae's roping has really come a long way over the Christmas break.  I think Kyle is really excited that she is finally excited to start roping!

Girls and their 2013 Christmas Gifts

I try to take an annual picture of the girls by the tree with some of their gifts each year.  Of course I am not near organized enough to make sure every gift is in the picture, but I do my best to get most of them in.

The Whitaker Christmas

Chip & Marilyn hosted the big Whitaker Christmas the Sunday following Christmas.  It is always a good time.  The white elephant gift exchange is always the hit of the day.  Terry & Linda treated us all to Famous Dave's Ribs.  Whitney took a liking to Uncle Robert.  It was pretty cute!

We had a very laid back New Years Eve and New Years Day.  We took the girls out for pizza and to the movie Frozen on New Years Eve.  It was the first time we had taken Whitney to the movies. We asked her if she wanted to go with us or go to Grandpa and Grammy's house.  She said "I wana go to the moovies!" So we took her.  About 2/3rds of the way through the movie she said "I'm ready to go to Gammy's house now!"  It was a little bit of effort to keep her content the rest of the time!  After the movies we went over to Chip & Marilyn's so the girls could watch the ball drop with them.  (It is kind of a tradition that they watch it together!)  It was way past my bed time so I had a really hard time keeping my eyes open!

New Years Day we state home all day.  The Husker's pulled out a win in the bowl game so it was a good day!
