2014 Branding

Well the 2014 branding will probably be one of the most memorable brandings!  It all started out so perfect!  It was a beautiful day!  Marilyn had fixed breakfast for us at 5:30 then the crew loaded up and headed down south to round up the cattle to move them home.  I followed behind the first couple miles to get some pictures then went home to get my food ready for the meal after the branding.  I had not been home too long before Kyle called me to get to back to them to help.  There were several calves that decided to head back where they were coming from instead of following their mamas.  He wanted me to come around and try to stop them, but by the time I got there it was too late.  There was really no stopping them.  It was a helpless feeling and I was very uncertain how it was all going to turn out.  Luckily none of them got hit on the highway they crossed to get back and most of them went back where they came from.  We had some get in with neighbors cattle.  We were blessed with great help from great friends. The guys were coming to help with the branding anyways.  I was sitting on the road by the highway making sure the cattle were not going to come back across it,  when our friend Matt pulled up.  I was telling him what had happened and he knew I was very worried about everything.  He said to me "One thing about it Halie, is we have a lot of guys coming and we will get them rounded up"  He called Kyle, who was with the rest of the heard, and asked what he should do. He took the crew of guys with him and went to work right away.  3 more guys and Kyle & Ben came down to help  and things could not have went more smoothly getting them all rounded up.  Well except for the back slide door of the trailer coming open and 15 of the calves getting out again!  everyone kept their cool and they rounded them up again. For me it was a great reminder of how important friendship is.  Everyone of those guys were treating the situation as if it was there own cattle they were rounding up.  That is true friendship, and we are blessed to have so many wonderful friends!

Aside from that the day went great!

Awana Program/A Day in Newman Grove/ Life at home

I find when I get behind in my blogging, I take fewer pictures.  So the last few weeks this is all I have.  It has been a busy few weeks.  The weather is getting nice, so we have be outside a lot.  I love seeing all of the green grass and the trees getting their leaves.  We are  really needing some rain, but besides that we have been blessed with a beautiful spring.  I think the older I get the more I love Spring.  I am pretty sure it is my favorite season of all :-)

Jenae and her Awana Class.

I was not quick enough with my camera to get a picture of Aubree Joy with her class so I took one by herself!

All 30 Awana Club members!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful church youth program in Chambers.  So many great people donate there time to help teach these kids the word of God.  My girls love Wednesday night church!

Fun  times with the Forre cousins! (and a few extras..not sure who the other kids are..but they joined right in!)

Not even sure what to say about this picture??  Aubree and Whitney were playing in the water and Whit's pants were wet.  Apparently she could not get them off because of her boots being on, so she just walked around like this.  Crazy kid!!

Easter 2014

We had a really nice, yet relaxing Easter weekend.  Saturday We took the girls into the park for the Easter Egg hunt.  I didn't get any pictures of the Easter Egg hunt, but got a couple of them playing at the park before the hunt started. We colored Easter Eggs that afternoon.
Always a highlight for my girls!!

Sunday morning we work up to 3 baby goats!!  It seams like new life on Easter morning makes it extra special!  The girls were super excited!
We went to church then over to Chip and Marilyn's for dinner.  We came home for a little bit so Whitney could take a nap then we went back over to Chip and Marilyn's for supper!  All the food was so very yummy!!
The weather was beautiful and it was a great day!!

The past month

No matter how busy life gets, I am committed to keeping up my blogging!  It may be late and it may not be as detailed as I would like it, but since picture is worth 1000 words and it is late and I am tired, I think I am going to let the pictures and the captions be enough for this post. I am really hoping to get back on track and keep up on my blogging!
