Holt County Fair

We had a great week at the Holt County Fair. I took the whole week off from work and really was able to relax and enjoy the week.  Well I guess there was not much relaxing, but it was more enjoyable not trying to juggle my job with all the fun!

Kyle thought we should start Fair week off with a Drive in Movie! We had a great time taking the girls to their first Drive in Movie, Planes Fire and Rescue.

Cheyenne--The Daddy of 'Em All

With my summer schedule change and being able to take an extra day off, I wanted to make the most of it and take the time to go to Cheyenne with my family.  It is such a fun rodeo and I am so glad I made the time to do so!!
Kyle had a good run on his first steer, but no luck on his 2nd one.

Fair Prep

We had a couple of days between rodeos and Fair so we made the most of them.  Both girls took projects to the fair.  I think I am finally getting the hang of some of this.  Maybe next year we can do some of these projects in the winter :-)

We spend the days in the saddle getting practiced up for their events as well.  It was good to have have some down time!!!

Wahoo

We went to Wahoo and McCook with Kyle.  I think I went to more rodeos with Kyle in July of 2014 than I went with the in the last 2 years combined.  We had so much fun.  I wish I could go more often!

A rodeo weekend!

I had one of the most fun weekends I can remember having in a really long time!  We left Wednesday afternoon, and the first stop was the Madison County Fair.  I LOVE that place!    From there we drove all night to get to a rodeo in Minnesota.  We met up with the Morton family and had a great time spending the weekend with them.  It was also fun to see other friends that I don't get to see very often. We took in rodeos in Spooner Wisconsin, Isanti, Minnesota and ended our rodeo weekend in Walt Hill Nebraska.  The weather was unseasonably cool and comfortable.  Kyle had a great weekend, he was 3.5 in the steer wrestling in Hamel, 81 on his bronc in Spooner, and 8.7 on his calf in Isanti.  He also won the average & second go round in Hamel in the Bronc riding & placed in streer wrestling in Spooner.  He won the bronc riding in Madison and Walt Hill and also spit the round in the steer wrestling in Walt Hill.  The girls all traveled great and were good troopers!  It was a weekend I did not want to come to and end.

Whitney eating the best county fair food, a corndog and snow cone.  Life does not get any better than that!  My Mom and siblings met up at the fair to take in the Carnival, they took Aubree and Jenae with them and me and Whitney went to watch Kyle and Hope in the rodeo.  Being at the Madison County Fair (my old stomping ground) really made me miss my Dad.  I have so many awesome memories from the Madison County Fair!

After an all night drive to get to Hamel, Minnesota we were all in need of some doTERRA Essential Oils!  My girls have turned into the little oilers.  They love to share the benefits of the oils with their friends!  Whitney was giving Donnae some drops of Wild Orange!

The Morton kids with the Whitaker girls!!  All on horse back!

Bon Fire!  It was super fun to just all hang out around the fire and roast marshmallows!

My camera was doing crazy things, so I didn't get great pictures.

The unfortunate part of our weekend, losing a wheel on our trailer!  It made for a long night.  We limped the trailer home from Sioux City and got home about 2:30 Monday morning.  We were able to only drive 30-50 mph the entire way home, so it was not a fun way to finish up the weekend!
