A rodeo weekend!

I had one of the most fun weekends I can remember having in a really long time!  We left Wednesday afternoon, and the first stop was the Madison County Fair.  I LOVE that place!    From there we drove all night to get to a rodeo in Minnesota.  We met up with the Morton family and had a great time spending the weekend with them.  It was also fun to see other friends that I don't get to see very often. We took in rodeos in Spooner Wisconsin, Isanti, Minnesota and ended our rodeo weekend in Walt Hill Nebraska.  The weather was unseasonably cool and comfortable.  Kyle had a great weekend, he was 3.5 in the steer wrestling in Hamel, 81 on his bronc in Spooner, and 8.7 on his calf in Isanti.  He also won the average & second go round in Hamel in the Bronc riding & placed in streer wrestling in Spooner.  He won the bronc riding in Madison and Walt Hill and also spit the round in the steer wrestling in Walt Hill.  The girls all traveled great and were good troopers!  It was a weekend I did not want to come to and end.

Whitney eating the best county fair food, a corndog and snow cone.  Life does not get any better than that!  My Mom and siblings met up at the fair to take in the Carnival, they took Aubree and Jenae with them and me and Whitney went to watch Kyle and Hope in the rodeo.  Being at the Madison County Fair (my old stomping ground) really made me miss my Dad.  I have so many awesome memories from the Madison County Fair!

After an all night drive to get to Hamel, Minnesota we were all in need of some doTERRA Essential Oils!  My girls have turned into the little oilers.  They love to share the benefits of the oils with their friends!  Whitney was giving Donnae some drops of Wild Orange!

The Morton kids with the Whitaker girls!!  All on horse back!

Getting ready to go ride the go carts!

All ready to roll!

Aubree got to ride with Becky.

Kyle took Whitney, she was super excited!

Whitney attempting mini golf.  As you can see, it didn't go very well!!

Soon Aubree took her place.  It went  a little better :-)

Bon Fire!  It was super fun to just all hang out around the fire and roast marshmallows!

My camera was doing crazy things, so I didn't get great pictures.

Say s'more!!

One of Whiteny's highlights from the weekend was seeing the 1 Armed Bandit 3 times!  She watched wide eyed every time!

The Morton boys with Whitney...she didn't get spoiled with attention during the weekend!

Whitney loves these boys!

The unfortunate part of our weekend, losing a wheel on our trailer!  It made for a long night.  We limped the trailer home from Sioux City and got home about 2:30 Monday morning.  We were able to only drive 30-50 mph the entire way home, so it was not a fun way to finish up the weekend!

4H Presentatins and Style Show

It has been a busy week coming off of a very exhausting weekend!  In addition to all the catch up work that needs to be done when coming home from a long weekend (laundry, yard work, house work)  we had 4H Presentations and the style show last night.  Both girls did really good!  Jenae was reserve champion and Aubree is just a clover kid so hers was just a participation ribbon.

Jenae said modeling it not her thing, but she did fine.  Aubree was the very first kid to model and seemed a little confused where she should go, but I think she loves every minute in the spot light!

Aubree Joy doing her speech.  She talked about how old Speedster is.

We had a great time at the Dunning Jr. Rodeo on the 4th of July.  The weather was nice and the rodeo ran off very smooth. I think we were home by 4:00!
The kids did great!  Jenae won 2nd in the breakaway, 4th in the goats and 5th in the All Around
Aubree won 2nd in the poles, 3rd in the barrels, 3rd in the dummy roping and she was the Reserve Champion All Around.
Trey did great.  It was his first Jr. Rodeo and he competed right up there with the big boys placed in the all around!
It was a fun day!
Whitney was so happy to see Uncle Robert at the rodeo.  She said "He's my favorite!"

Aubree in the dummy roping.  She got 3rd place!

Jenae competed in her first breakaway roping.  She made a beautiful run and was a 6 second run.  I was so proud of her!  She made a 6 second run!
