Tuesday

By mid June, Kyle will be on the go & we will see him very little so I took Tuesday off & had a nice family day.  It was a little windy, but the temperature was perfect for a day outside.  Kyle roped & steer wrestled in the morning.  I packed a picnic lunch that we ate at the creek.  After our lunch the girls saddled up & got in some good riding time.  Kyle left that evening for Fort Smith, Arkansas.  After he left the girls & I spent most of the evening outside.  Jenae shot baskets & tied her goats while; Aubree played with her kittens.  No cows were in heat so we did not need to AI anything & I took advantage of having a quiet night & put my kids to bed early!  They were tired girls & all 3 were sleeping peacefully by 9:00.  Yesterday was the last of my 5 days from work off.  I was sad to have my time at home come to an end.  It was a cold rainy day & we spent most of the day in the house getting caught up with laundry and organizing for the next couple days.  Chip needed Jenae's help in the evening & I was planning to take her back over thre first thing this morning.  Marilyn called me last night wondering if I just wanted Jenae to spend the night.  I knew Jenae would not have any objections :-)  Once I got Whitney to bed, Aubree & I snuggled up to watch some Rawhides that we had on our DVR.  They just do not make tv shows like they used to!

Now Whitney is eating a chip...She gets to eat a lot more fun things than I let her sisters eat at that age!!!

Monday

Monday the kids spent most of the day in the saddle!  Dan & Kyle ran the steers in the morning & when they were finished the kids thought it was there turn to ride.  The Morton family left our house around 4:30.  I think all of the kids were exhausted!!!  It had been a fun couple days!!!

Sunday

I do not think we could have fit any thing else into Sunday if we tried! Wow it was a busy day! The Morton Family was back for a short visit! They came back to pick up their trailer that Duba's were working on & boy were my girls happy!!! Kyle took the girls into Sunday School, Whitney & I joined them for church. After church Kyle took the girls to the cemetery then it was home to get ready for our company to arrive.

Dan & the kids got to our place right about noon & we ate some dinner & then it was on with the actives. The kids were out tying goats before us adults even got done eating! Hope stopped by & gave them a quick goat tying lesson. From goat tying the kids moved on to jumping on the trampoline. By this time the kids were getting warm & thought a trip to the creek is just what they needed. A couple hours later it was back to the house to get boots & jeans on it was time to ride! Kyle roped then he & Dan threw some steers & Dane roped Re-run the calf dummy. The kids had a grand time riding & I looked out & saw several of them riding over to our house to help Chip. The Morton family got in on AIing the cows. It was 9:00 by the time they were done I had hamburgers on the grill ready to eat when everyone came in the house. Then it was off to town to watch some fireworks. We finished off the day winding down by watching Rawhide & having some warm chocolate chip cookies & cold milk! That is a very short summery of the day! I am tired just thinking about it! I will try to post about Monday tomorrow!

Whitney was all smiles with her first trip to the creek.  She was so tired before we headed out there, but I didn't want to miss out on going so I loaded her up and away we went.  She loved playing in the sand & was happy sitting in the shallow water.  After being out there close to an hour, she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer.  When her eyes started getting heavy I headed to the house.  I didn't make it very far until she was sound to sleep.

It was the perfect day for a swim.  It was almost 90 degrees before the cool front came through.

The kids all played so hard!  They ran, jumped, swam & giggled a lot!!

Aubree was riding Beauty home with the other kids & was having some trouble.  Kyle said she showed back up over at his parents house just & he & Dane were headed to our house & said "Beauty was being a jerk."  Kyle thought it would be good for Beauty to have Dane school on her for awhile.  Dane did really good with her!

Saturday

Day one of my long weekend is in the books, & what a busy day it was!  Last night Marilyn fixed prime rib for supper & had us all over for the evening.  Kyle's aunt Danni is back from California for her class reunion.  It was nice to have a chance to visit with her. 

This morning Hope fixed breakfast for everyone at her house.  The have a great  house for entertaining & it is nice that they only live 7 miles from us now.  Trey & Aubree had a great time playing.  They either are bust buddies or they fight, today they were good buds!

Kyle & Jenae went riding shortly after dinner while Aubree & Whitney took naps.  When the little girls woke up I took them over to ride for a little bit also.  Jeane was finished riding by the time we got there, but the other girls really enjoyed their time in the saddle. 

It was really hot & humid here today.  It was in the mid 90's this afternoon & it does not seem to be cooling off much tonight.  I just watched the 10:00 news & the heat index at 10:00 is still 85 degrees!!  I hope it cools down soon, it feels more like a July day instead of a May day. 

Well it is time to call it a night, we still have lots to do the next several days :-)

First Bon Fire for 2012

Finally I am getting caught up with my blogging!  When I finish this post  I will be officially up to date with everything going into a long weekend!  On Tuesday night we had our annual "School's Out For Summer" bonfire.  It was really really windy & having the bonfire at our house or Chip & Marilyn's house would have been out of the question.  Ben & Hope's house has a lot of protection from all the surrounding tree & was the perfect place. We ate supper on their patio then went out behind the house to have the bonfire.  The night would not have been complete without fireworks from Grandpa Chip!  Our annual bonfire is a sure sign that summer is here. The kids had a great time, it was a really fun night. 

When I left work today it was a good feeling to know that I have some time off.  I am taking Tuesday as a vacation day so I am off until Thursday.  It does not sound like there will be to much down time!  We have lots going on between now & then!  Hopefully I can keep up with by blogging as the weekend goes on :-)
