Burwell Jr. Rodeo

Sunday was Jenae's last jr. rodeo for the year. She did not have as good of a day as she had hoped she would, but I think she still had a good time.  I entered Aubree in the stick horse events & they went on the same time as her goat tying.  I was sad not to get to see her goat run, but it was fun to watch Aubree do her events.  Chip, Marilyn & Hope were all on the track watching Jenae's goat run.  It sounds like she made a good run once she got the goat down on the ground, but the goat was a little tricky to get caught.  She did really well in the flag race & out of 30 some flag racers she got 5th.  No prize for 5th, but she was happy with her run.  Especially since we never practice that event.  Jenae hit a pole, but still was probably 7th or 8th out of 30 some girls.  It was really windy & it did not take much to tip a pole over.  She was really disappointed that she hit a barrel.  She so rarely knocks a barrel over, but that is rodeo.  I am thinking if she is going to be in rodeo for the long haul she might as well realize the up & downs of it all.  Winning feels so good when you finally win after a dry spell.

Aside from the wind, it was a really nice day.  It was cool in the morning, we all had on jackets.  Jenae was very happy to have her "coach" there.  That is what she refers to Hope as :-)  The rodeo was huge with a ton of entries, but was probably the most efficiently run jr. rodeo I have ever been to.  We were home by 5:00 & I think we were all exhausted!  I took Whitney along with us.  Not sure that was the best idea I have ever had.  Jr. rodeos make for a really long day with a baby!

Cousin Trey came along with Hope to cheer on the girls!
